Baltimore Orioles humiliated by Los Angeles Angels 0-6 – MLB Update
Baltimore Orioles were humiliated by the Los Angeles Angels 0-6 at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, California on Sunday, July 8 in the finale of their four match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season.
Erick Aybar provided Los Angeles with an excellent start as he homered to left-centre in the second inning and Mike Trout hit a home-run in the third to put the Angels 2-0 ahead. All Star Albert Pujols also had a great outing, connecting for a two run shot
to left in the third. Mark Trumbo also homered to shine in a 6-0 Los Angeles’ victory.
"I found out yesterday that I was coming up here, and that's all you can hope for -- give the team a chance to win and help them take a big series going into the break," said Angels’ relief pitcher Brad Mills, who gave just three hits in five solid innings.
"I was just mixing today. I didn't really throw my cutter much, but the changeup and curveball were there when I needed it. I was fighting my command a little bit, but I was able to make them put it in play and pop some up."
With their win on Sunday evening, the Angels also secured a deserving series victory. Credit must be given to the Angels for using their home condition superbly.
After the Orioles fought back in Game 2 to level series, it seemed they had worked out a perfect winning formula but the Angels regrouped themselves to stage an emphatic come back in the following game.
Angels domination against the Orioles gives an indication of just what they are capable of. Right now, they are just four games behind the first placed Texas Rangers on the American League West Division standings and it will be exciting to see if they can
replace the Rangers after the All Star Break.
Orioles, on the other hand, have little time to sort their problems out. They have now fallen seven games behind the American League East Division leaders New York Yankees and it will be tough work for them to narrow that gap.
