Baltimore Orioles second baseman Brian Roberts close to return – MLB News
The Baltimore Orioles veteran second baseman Brian Roberts is very close to return to the baseball field after spending almost one year recovering from the headfirst slide and concussion injury.
On Wednesday, he was present in-front of large media where he told the reporters about the significance of this day as last year at Fenway Park on the same day (Wednesday) he endured this serious injury that certainly ended his season playing chances.
He stated in the media about different aspects of injury and the recovery process which still in progress. However, he looked sure when he talked about his playing chances in this ongoing Major League Baseball season. He described that at the moment he is feeling quite close to return into the competition.
Roberts said with confidence giving the impression and early comeback, “I thought about it a lot today, actually, It's one of those things you try to look back on and see what you've learned and what God's tried to teach you through it. I think it happened for a reason. He's in control of it, but at the same time, it doesn't mean it hasn't been extremely hard and very frustrating at times. But at the same time, I'm very grateful for where I am today."                           
Roberts added, "It's a pretty big hurdle, getting on my belly and trying to get back to aggressively getting on the ground."
Since Roberts was injured, his recovery has been remained the top priority for the Orioles. Concussion injuries often take some time as this also involves with every player’s individual mental capacity.
Not many players recover from concussions quickly instead these kinds of injuries take extra time. Here, with the Roberts’ injury, the Orioles’ management has taken great care regarding every significant aspect. They, from start of his recovery process, always motivated him and appreciated his every outing with the team meetings.
Currently, he is considered fit to play as he travels with the team and also a permanent member of team dugout, but still the Orioles’ doctors are taking no further steps and watching his recovery process with great care.
