Baltimore Orioles show an interest to trade with Chicago White Sox – MLB News
Right before the start of the Major League Winter Meeting, speculations started to come as the Baltimore Orioles are trying to negotiate with the Chicago White Sox for a possible trade for their two potential players Gavin Floyd and outfielder Carlos Quentin.
Now this news has been confirmed by multiple sources that the Orioles are certainly after two White Sox talented players and pushing hard to make a possible deal.
However, the Orioles’ new vice president of baseball operations Dan Duquette is currently very busy and making no official comments apparently for the late desire of the franchise to bring two potential players from the White Sox.
Duquette’s past managerial experience is very essential for the Orioles, who are currently in a rebuilding process for 2012 and dearly need some good players.
After his appointment, Duquette was very excited to make a viable plan for the Orioles and expressed in detail about what are the possible changes might need in this franchise.
Duquette said, “I think we have the wherewithal to make a couple of deals, we’ll keep working on it. It has taken a while for the market to develop, some of these signings will extend beyond this week, but I thought there would be a few more things that
would fall into place today, frankly.”
The recent talks of trading with the White Sox for Gavin Floyd and Carlos Quentin is an initiative from Duquette but still no one is sure regarding both these players’ future and where they will be heading. Though, the White Sox are not interested at the
moment to make any potential deal with the Orioles but some top executives in the White Sox franchise think that this probable deal might give them a strong financial position that will eventually help the club in a number of ways in the near future.
As the Orioles are looking to rebuild their team, the White Sox are most likely looking trade witht the team to free up some money and space from their line-up to acquire some high priced players.
