Baltimore Orioles’ starting pitcher Alfredo Simon confident ahead of next season – MLB News
Busy in Arizona during 2012 Spring Training, the Baltimore Orioles’ starting pitcher Alfred Simon is showing some great confidence ahead of next Major League Baseball season.
A Dominican Republic native, who earlier was released on bail against involuntary manslaughter charges in his country, certainly seemed relaxing during the whole conversation with the reporters some two days ago.
Talking about the time he spent in jail in Dominican Republic and the whole episode that has given him the shock of his life, Simon told the media, “It was the worst place I've ever been in my life. People think I killed somebody, but that guy was a friend of mine, and I didn't do that thing. I was just really sad because I lost spring training and I thought my career was over … so my mind was pretty crazy."
He further explained as he wants to forget about that horrified period of his life and trying to move on towards a better beginning next season. He added, saying confidently about the next MLB season, “Last year, I was worrying about everything. This year, I don't have to worry about that thing anymore. It's tough when you get into trouble like that, and you learn a lot in your life. You try to stay away from trouble. Last year, I couldn't concentrate.”
A four year veteran, having great amount of skills, Simon certainly is a great player. His pitching skills have also grown to a next level. He started his career from the Orioles platform and is very passionate about ending here as well.
From his agent to his family and from his team-mates to Orioles management, everybody had made their mind of Simon as his involvement in a murder case will ruin his professional baseball career. But later not only he was released on bail, but legal experts do believe that his affiliation with this particular case, will soon be over. Simon is a good player and the way he is showing his enthusiasm in the media about his next season’s planning and the way he has overcome that late incident, is certainly be pleased about.
