Baltimore Orioles thrash Philadelphia Phillies 12-3 – MLB Spring Training
Baltimore Orioles continued their marvellous winning streak as they humiliated the Philadelphia Phillies 12-3 at ED Smith Stadium in Florida on Sunday, March 3 in an important grape fruit league encounter. Orioles dominated their opponents in almost all
aspects of the game. Manager Buck Showalter, in particular, will be extremely pleased with what he saw from his men.
Orioles pitching rotation looked in hot form as they created all sorts of problems for the Phillies batting lineup. Starting pitcher and the relievers all made useful contributions to help their side restrict the Phillies to a very small total. Orioles were
the surprise package last season as they made it to the playoffs with none of the baseball writers and analyst expecting them to do.
"He's not taking one pitch for granted," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "This guy, he's not assuming anything. When you've been where he is, Miguel's trying to make the club."
"I tried to work on everything," he said. "We try to get in there and try to get out (of) there as soon as possible."

"It's nice, I'm not going to lie," he said. "You're still working on things. It's a different feeling for me."http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/29670/freddy-galvis
Considering the form and confident they have shown so far this Spring Training, it will not be wrong to say that they have a very  good chance of winning the World Series title. Season favourites like the Detroit Tigers, San Francisco Giants and the New
York Yankees will have to be on their toes to overcome the Orioles challenge.
"Camp's got a good feeling to it," Showalter said.
Phillies, on the other hand, will be looking to learn from their mistakes to turn things around in the regular season. Philadelphia gave inconsistent and forgettable results in 2012 and their fans are expecting them to put up a much better show in this season.
It will be very exciting to see if they cans surprise other top teams in the National League to reach the post season.
