Baltimore Orioles thrash Washington Nationals 12-3 – MLB Spring Training

Baltimore Orioles thrashed Washington Nationals 12-3 at the Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota Florida on March 24 in their Grapefruit League clash of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training Session.
For Nationals, Davey Johnson and Edwin Jackson paid the heavy price for their lack of concentration as the Orioles secured a comfortable 12-3 win. It will be interesting to see if the Nationals can bounce back from another humiliating defeat.
"This has been kind of a grueling three days and a rough time of the spring," Johnson said. "I look at things that are happening for the best, having a few guys down and having a bunch of road trips where you try to take it easy on your veteran players,
not having to travel and just sitting for a long time. I think we'll start to see what we're made of this coming week."
"This is just around the point of the spring where the bats catch up with some of the pitching," Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said.
The Orioles will be delighted with their effort in a completely one sided spring training game on Saturday. Showing their class and composure, they asserted dominance over their opponents in almost all aspects of the game. After making an aggressive start
to the match, the Orioles continued to pressurise their rivals to establish complete control over the contest.
Scoring runs easily, Baltimore’s batters posted a huge total on the board. With a decent 9-9 win-loss record this spring, the Orioles have shown some definite signs of improvement. However, the real test lies ahead during regular season when every game will
be of significant importance. Manager Buck Showalter and his men will be looking to stick to their game plan to give consistent results throughout the season.
The Nationals, on the other hand, will be extremely disappointed with the outcome of the encounter. Wasting too many opportunities, they have no one to blame except for themselves. On a hitter's friendly ballpark, Nationals’ batters failed to convert some
easy scoring opportunities, which played a key role in deciding the result of the game.
