Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco thrives on coach Jim Caldwell run offence – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has done it again, this time battering Cleveland Browns by the high-paced run offence he has been thriving on under supervision of new QBs coach Jim Caldwell.
Soon after his arrival in Baltimore after being sacked by Indianapolis Colts where former Colts QB Peyton Manning had trained under him, Jim spoke high of Flacco’s potential and now the offence leader has proven time and again that the coach had rightly
assessed the Ravens’ star.
Flacco, who recently said to have thoroughly been enjoying the run offence introduced by Caldwell, was the star of Ravens’ superb performance versus the Browns. He has finished all games of this season on a high note, and appears to be upbeat about the success
chances for the rest of it.
He has single-handedly helped his side to victories. The Ravens have been lucky that Flacco has gained prime form given their defence, which has traditionally been their strength, is struggling so far. The team is off to a slow start on the defensive position while
offensive line led by Flacco has been very effective.
The ongoing success run has also provided an opportunity to the Ravens’ QB to settle his complaint of ignoring him in win-credit-giving by the team last year. Flacco had thrown out a few statements on the issue in the media and accused the managers of putting
too much weight on the defence when it comes to giving credit of their victories.
Although he performed well in the last season, overall he was not as impressive as now and an element of inconsistency was witnessed in his performances then. So with him in the limelight, Ravens are hoping that the offensive line thrives on the success
of their leader.
It is too early to rate Flacco among ranks of elite quarterbacks but if he is able to lead the offence throughout the season the way he has started it he definitely stands a chance to make it to the crop of high-ranked offence leaders in the league.
