Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco’s profile gets boost of teammates endorsement – NFL News
A few days after an analyst rated Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback, Joe Flacco, having one of the strongest arms in the league, Joe has found another supporting voice within his teammates who says the player has not been given his due as
far as credit-giving is concerned.
It all started when the player rated himself to be the best QB in the National Football League (NFL) a couple of months ago, which to some extent raised eye brows but nothing was taken as serious, given it was not a new version of Flacco’s
outbursts.
Now Baltimore Ravens’ centre, Matt Birk, said that Flacco has not been given the due share. He apparently was pinpointing to all the criticism that the quarterback takes in response to his often attention-seeking statements.
Matt said:
"Certain guys don't get the benefit of the doubt. He's shown in big spots that he's come through most of the time and he can play. Our game plan isn't designed to have Joe Flacco throw 450 yards a every game to help us win. That's not
our style of football. I guess that's not the cool, hip way to play football in the NFL these days."
Irrespective of what happened in the past, Flacco can expect some boost to his form and reputation this season.
The player is going to be trained and coached by former Indianapolis Colts’ head coach, Jim Caldwell. Jim, who has trained and groomed the only four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league, Peyton Manning, said he has different plans
for Flacco.
While speaking high of Ravens’ QB, Caldwell said that Flacco has his own positives and strengths and he will try to help the player to better capitalise on them, instead of putting him into the dye he has used for Manning.
One of the problems that Flacco has is inconsistency of form. He is at his best at many occasions and goes down below the mark sometimes.
The new coach is apparently aware of the player’s weaknesses and will try to help him overcome those at training camp. This should make Flacco even a better quarterback.
