Baltimore Ravens aim to avoid losing against weaker oppositions – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens said that they aim to overcome their weakness of losing against comparatively lower ranked oppositions in the future.
The Ravens have pulled off victories against competitive teams. They beat their American Football Conference (AFC) north division close rivals the Pittsburgh Steelers twice; overpower the Houston Texans and San Francisco Chiefs,
respectively.
However their losses against the Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars have raised serious concerns for them.
The team said that now they aim to end their reputation of losing against their weaker opponents.
"We certainly acknowledge that those three losses coming off big wins were not good performances. They're there. They're on the record," Coach John Harbaugh said. "Now we face a similar challenge this week, but a tougher challenge,
because now we've got to go play a team in our division."
This week the Ravens are visiting the Cleveland Browns, the close rivals in the north division, and expect to have a tough game.
"It doesn't matter how many wins and losses they have," linebacker Jarret Johnson said. "They always play good against us. It's going to be a dogfight, so we better bring it."
The Ravens are 8-3 in AFC north division, sharing their lead with the Pittsburgh Steelers. They however would have surpassed the Steelers had they not been losing against the weaker teams. They themselves realised that they could
have posted wins against Jaguars and other teams given the way they performed against big oppositions.
The Ravens will be facing the Browns defence which is rated at sixth number in National Football League (NFL) rating. The Browns however have disadvantage of suffering injuries to a number of players. This included Scott Fujita
who has been ruled out for rest of current season. He is going to have surgery on his right hand he suffered last week.
However the Baltimore Ravens have their worries too. They are playing without Ray Lewis for third consecutive game. He is on the sideline nursing his toe injury. Ray Lewis did not participate in the practice session this week but
still has set hopes to join the squad for their Sunday game.
