Baltimore Ravens expect Ray Lewis’ comeback this season – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens representatives said that they expect their injured linebacker Ray Lewis will return in the season despite his toe injury.
However, they further added that this will be Lewis’ own decision if he wanted to play in the current regular season of the National Football League (NFL), the American football's premier league.
The current NFL regular season, approaching week 12, is halfway through and Lewis missed the last game against Cincinnati Bengals, which the Ravens won 31-24. This was his first miss after having played 57 consecutive games. Ravens also said that it will again be Lewis own decision if he wanted to play the Thanksgiving Day game at San Francisco. Lewis is 12-time pro-bowl linebacker.
Lewis had been injured in the Ravens game against Seattle Seahawks. Despite the fact that Lewis’ injury did not look season threatening, however, he has been allowed time by the team to decide about the next game as well as the current season's comeback. The player in view of his doctor's assurance and team wish said he hopes to recover well before the current season ends.
Ravens are playing their next game against San Francisco 49ers and if Lewis missed that game he will get sufficient time for recovery for the games to be played in the weeks after Week 12. The Ravens are looking at games against Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts. Both teams are struggling. Colts have not won a single game while Browns lost their last game against Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.
Courtesy of their win against the Bengals, Ravens are currently leading the American Football Conference (AFC) north division. They share the spot with Pittsburgh Steelers whom they have defeated twice already this season.
They, however, missed the absence of Ray Lewis in their match against the Bengals. Despite holding off their lead till the end, it was a very close win for the team. However, their offence contradictory to the usual criticism against it managed to pull off a good fight at the end to ensure that Ravens were victorious.
