Baltimore Ravens host Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in crucial AFC North tie – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens will enter the week 11 of the current season of the American football league, National Football League (NFL), with a crucial showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday.
Given their past performance which remains unpredictable, winning against big teams while losing against rather lightweights, it will be difficult to determine the Ravens’ games' strategy for the coming weekend.
This is a crucial tie in the American Football Conference (AFC) North division as the winner of the game will share the lead in the points table, increasing their chances for the playoff season. Ravens are hosting Bengals for the
weekend.
"You've got to win those games to be one of those elite teams like we're claiming to be," Ravens’ safety Ed Reed said."If we're claiming to be that team, we've got to come out and play week to week. It can't be elite one week and
then unnecessary roughness the next week. It's got to be every time."
Ravens started off the current regular season at a rather dull note, but lately have started emerging as a strong unit, pulling off some big wins to their credit. They have started establishing themselves as the team to beat in
the division.
They started with comfortable win of Pittsburgh Steelers 35-7; beat the New York Jets, Houston Texans and again Steelers on November 6. Then they fell apart against Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle. They currently rein at 6-3 in
the AFC North.
Meanwhile Cincinnati Bengal who too are maintaining their 6-3 lead with six wins and three losses will by looking for chance to go one up over the Ravens. They are heading into the weekend with five consecutive wins streak, before
they lost in one of their key game against Pittsburgh Steelers last Sunday. However, despite hanging with Steelers 3-7, Bengals are said to have come out with many key strengths.
With Leon Hall out for the season due to his injury Bengals will be relying on their secondary strength. Nate Clements and Kelly Jennings who both are in the starting role will play crucial part in their game.
"I learned this a long time ago," Bengals secondary coach Kevin Coyle said. "You don't dwell on the guys who aren't playing; you focus on the guys you have to play with."
