Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis out for Sunday game – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens’ All-pro middle linebacker Ray Lewis is to miss this Sunday’s game due to toe injury.
The latest diagnosis have confirmed that the player is definitely out for this weekend’s game and may even miss more matches due to his injured toe. The injury is reported to be of such an extent that it would be difficult for
him to recover before the weekend’s game.
Lewis was injured in the game against Seattle Seahawks and is yet to recover from it. He, according to the Carroll County Times, had travelled to South Florida for a second opinion about his injury. The reports from the newspaper
confirmed that Lewis will miss this Sunday game.
He is expected to miss even more games in the current regular season of the American football’s premier league, National Football League (NFL).
The league is into its week 11, and the Baltimore Ravens are facing Cincinnati Bengals this weekend, in one of the crucial ties. The match is important for both teams as both of them will try to go one up to share the lead with
Pittsburgh Steelers.
Steelers are leading 7-3 in the American Football Conference (AFC) north division, while Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens are jammed 6-3 in the second position.
Ray Lewis has missed the practice sessions for the last two days and was expected to be doubtful for the Sunday game.
The news comes as another setback for Ravens as their new signee Lee Evans, who has missed seven consecutive games, is waiting for game-call decision for his comeback to the team. He has expressed optimism for his joining the squad
on Sunday but it would be a game-call.
Evans joined the Ravens in a pre-season trade in August this year, but played only two games for them before being put on the sideline due to ankle injury. He is now joined by the Lewis.
Lewis, the two times Defensive Player of the Year, has not missed a single game. He has played 57 consecutive games since 2007. However, the injury has forced him out this season, for this Sunday at least.
