Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti backs QB Joe Flacco play another season for them – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback, Joe Flacco, who had complaints of not being given due credit in wins of their team during the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season, apparently being overshadowed by predomination of defence in the team,
has been backed to be part of the Ravens for another season by no one other than his employer, Ravens’ owner, Steve Bisciotti, himself.
It remained a distinct hallmark of Flacco to go public about sidelining of him in the team’s praise for their players in their victories, and media kept riding on the light controversy and excitement generated by his outspoken attitude.
Near the end of their last season run, he came on the receiving end of the criticism and attack from his own colleagues.
One of the examples was the statement of Ravens’ safety, Ed Reed, who in one of his remarks said that the quarterback was kind of ‘rattled’ by the Houston Texans defence in their playoff game.
Reed asked him to perform better than the New England Patriots’ attack in the American Football Conference (AFC) championship game to help his side secure a win.
Despite that Ravens’ quarterback proved himself to be better on the field than their opponents’ QB, Tom Brady, in the AFC game, there has been a question hanging around his future at the Baltimore.
The player, who had been a part of the team during their past three berths into the playoff round and a couple of times for AFC game, had shown his strong willingness to comeback to Ravens another season, atleast.
He apparently did not hear much in response of his wish of playing more for Ravens, except for that now his employer, the Ravens owner, has come to his backing for returning to them next year.
"Ray and Joe Flacco will be part of this football team next year, guaranteed," Bisciotti said.
He added:
"I think he's going to be extremely successful. I think he's going to have rings," Bisciotti said. "He's got 10 years of his prime to show it. I think that he will be rewarded for his personality in the long run, and I think our fans will, too.”
The owner was speaking to mediamen along with his general manager, Ozzie Newsome, and president, d**k Cass and head coach, John Harbaugh on Wednesday, February 01, 2012, throwing a light on the future prospects of his team.
Ravens’ GM, Newsome, also spoke of similar hopes for their quarterback and backed him for playing for their side in the future.
"When you're in this business, you get judged on one thing: winning. Joe wins. He continues to win. If one pass is caught, he would be in the Super Bowl. I think he's going to win Super Bowls”, he said.
Following their respective assurances, Joe Flacco, will be a definite choice of the team’s future attack, which is expected to get boost from the appointment of a fulltime coach, Jim Caldwell, who was taken on board off waiver by his former team, the Indianapolis
Colts.
