Baltimore Ravens project to reach playoffs this season yet again – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens are considered amongst the National Football League (NFL) top few teams to return to playoffs yet again this season irrespective of the question whether they lose or win the initial phase of the second round.
Raven, who have been playing the playoffs for last four consecutive seasons, are seen likely winners of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division again this year.
An analysis from Pro Football Talk is in line with views of almost all pundits that the team will hold out to be the leader in the AFC North and should be able to make it to the postseason as minimum.
It is rather unfortunate for Ravens that they could not get past the playoffs in all their previous four attempts but top brasses of the team are still hopeful of their chances this season.
The team will begin training camp later this month, with almost the last year's squad intact. There is some uncertainty about the participation of safety, Ed. Reed, and to some extent Ray Rice, who might skip the camp if not given a fresh
contract.
Joe Flacco has already assured to be back under supervision of his new coach, Jim Caldwell, for the first time.
The teams who are seen vulnerable to miss the playoffs are the Cincinnati Bengals, who made to the second round on the last wildcard opportunity in the 2011 season and of course the Cleveland Browns, who do not have the experience of playing
beyond regular season for past many seasons.
Some analysts also see the Pittsburgh Steelers heading into some difficulties. The team has some problems at the quarterback situation, especially if the QB Ben Roethlisberger and others are not able to pick up the new offence scheme of
coach, Todd Haley.
Also, the team is coming out on the field this season with a number of new players. The drive to slash down their players’ salary expense has made them to part ways with many veterans, and coach, Mike Tomlin, admits the team is dependent
on its future stars.
Rest of the situation in the AFC North is expected to remain the same.
