Baltimore Ravens rejoice victory over Dallas Cowboys, seek even better performance in future – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens’ victory over Dallas Cowboys in Week 6 game might not have come if luck did not have anything to do to shape the outcome of the game.
Ravens started the game well and were leading at halftime, but Cowboys surprisingly rallied to come very close to outscoring Ravens.
However, they still managed to get the win, which was their fourth straight victory of the season.
Cowboys rallied in the second half, but a touchdown from Ravens in the fourth quarter with less than five minutes left on the lock pushed them back. However, Cowboys scored a touchdown in the final minute and decided to go for a two-point conversion.
If the Cowboys had succeeded in the conversion attempt the score would have tied. When the Cowboys missed that attempt, it was assumed that Ravens would win the game easily.
However, Cowboys were able to recover the following onside kick and gained the possession to set up a field goal later.
Ravens were taken aback by that development and started feeling pressure, because a successful field goal attempt would have taken the game away from them.
But Cowboys missed the field goal and Ravens eventually got the victory.  The drama in the final few minutes of the game made the victory eventful, but it also highlighted Ravens’ flaws, which should be overcome.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Ravens running back Ray Rice said of the missed field goal attempt by Cowboys:
"Thank you, Jesus. We've been on the other end of that, obviously, so we know what that feels like."
Meanwhile, safety Bernard Pollard said of the overall game:
"We are a tough football team. Nobody can question that. Stats do not win football games. … [But] for me, I'm pissed off. I take this personally. Our name is on this. We have to do better than that and we are better than that."
On the other hand, quarterback Joe Flacco has also expressed similar sentiments, saying that the players must now shift focus to the next game. He said:
"I don't know if we necessarily deserve to win this game, but we'll take it. We'll get the h**l out of here really quick and go home and fall asleep and wake up the next morning with a win."
Ravens are leading American Football Conference (AFC) North with five victories and only one defeat.
