Baltimore Ravens running back Ricky Williams says no regrets to join Ravens – NFL News
Baltimore Ravens’ running back star Ricky Williams said he was glad to have chosen Ravens over Detroit Lions.
However, he admitted that he sometimes thinks of that lost opportunity despite he said in the same breath that he was happy to with Ravens.
"That thought has crossed my mind, but I like it here and I'm glad I chose to come here," he said.
Williams after having spent nine consecutive seasons with Miami Dolphins joined the Baltimore Ravens. A number of teams were pursuing him before his singing with Ravens. This included the Detroit Lions.
The player admitted that lions were a great team but added he had no regrets about his decision of choosing Ravens instead.
One of the reasons for his preference to go for the Lions could have been the fact that he could have more workload there. The Lions are struggling with a number of players with injuries at the running back position and, had William
joined them he could have had a lot of opportunities to handle the ball.
"If I'd have gone to the Lions, I'd probably have a chance to touch the ball a little bit more," Williams said. "But I liked the veteran leadership here and the opportunity this team had to go deep in the playoffs. Since I'm coming
to the end of my career, I thought it would be nice to end it on a good team."
He said that he sometimes thinks about that chances and reasons that the Lions could have turned out be a great team. He however stood behind his decision to go for the Baltimore instead.
With the Ravens Williams is position behind Ray Rice. He has carried the ball for the total 54 times and for 230 yards. He also has a touchdown to his credit. Apparently this looks a less workload for Williams but he looked satisfied
with it.
"At this point, my focus is just to finish my career strong," he said. "I'm not even thinking two or three years down the line. But one positive about not carrying the ball is my body does feel good."
