Baltimore Ravens uncertain about LB Terrell Suggs’ return to action this week – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens were yet to give official version of linebacker Terrell Suggs’ biceps injury and the player’s availability for the weekend game was uncertain until filing of this report.
Only remarks about Suggs’ suspected torn biceps, which the player himself has disclosed, are a line from coach John Harbaugh who said he hopes that the player has not suffered a serious injury that ousts him for a longer period.
The coach said:
"I think we are encouraged that it may not be. We'll just have to see."
A day earlier, the player said he was awaiting the latest scans results to determine how serious the injury was and how long will it need for healing and rehab. A longer absence of Suggs will certainly be a setback for the team given their other star LB
Ray Lewis has not made a comeback yet.
Lewis expressed a great optimism last week that he was likely to hit the field again by mid of this month but as of the latest all sides are mum as far as the course and status of his recovery is concerned.
In absence of both key LBs, the Ravens’ depleted defensive line will be affected seriously. It does not bode well with the team’s hopes of making the playoffs in next couple of games. They could have reached in the second round last weekend but unfortunately
their surprise loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers has delayed their berth into it.
While Lewis is unlikely for this week, the team hopes Suggs is available. The player himself hopes it is not a serious blow. He disclosed the injury scare in a surprise statement on Monday. Until then no one, even the team, knew that the player suffered
it during the Steelers game.
This will be second time that the LB is ousted with an injury scare. He earlier had partially torn Achilles tendon and was out of the side until October this year. His previous recovery was ahead of schedule, which surprised the team and onlookers. Ray Lewis
is plotting his return in the same fashion, which, if happens, will boost the defensive line of the Ravens.
