Baltimore Ravens’ wide receiver Lee Evans optimistic for Sunday return – NFL News
The Baltimore Ravens wider receiver Lee Evans said that he expected to make a comeback for Ravens' game against Bengals this Sunday.
Ravens are hosting the Cincinnati Bengals into week 11 of the premier American football league, National Football League (NFL) on the weekend.
Evans said that he hoped for the return after injury for the weekend's game however he admitted it might be a game-call decision.
"It hasn't been an easy process," Evans said. "I've just tried to stay with it, stay consistent and do everything I can to get back on the field. It's something that you can't rush. You just kind of have to let it heal. I'm just
learning a little patience here, more than I have."
The speedy wider receiver was obtained by the Ravens in a pre-season trade with Bills. He joined Ravens in August this year, after having spent most of his career (seven seasons) with the Buffalo Bills.
He played two games with Ravens in earlier two weeks of the current regular season and has been out for last seven consecutive games due to an ankle injury. He expressed optimism for the Sunday return. However his fate for participation
in the game will be decided just before the game.
Meanwhile the Ravens coach too has backed his optimism for the return to the game. "That's to be determined," John Harbaugh said. "We're always hopeful, but we'll have to see."
A close analysis of the Evans receptions per season reveals that the player's receptions have been on decline since he had achieved 63 in 2008.
This year too his receptions are expected to be affected badly. He already has missed seven games since joining the Ravens. If he is out for this week, it will be consecutive eight weeks that the player has been on the sideline
watching his teammates play.
The current NFL season is already into the week 11. So far, he has only two catches for 45 yards to his credit. Both were achieved in his games against Tennessee in the week two of the current season. Ravens had lost that game.
