  1. Yes, you should go!! I am 19 and I work there. The only reason age matters if you are working with vehicles are dangerous equipment. For example, when I worked at Quiznos the law required employees to be 16 because the job require using knives and an oven Also, you were required to be 18 to use the meat slicer. I can not see why Banana Republic would require you to be 18 or over, so you should still try if you really want the job. Most of the people I work with are in their early 20's but there are also a couple older women working there as well. I am the youngest at 19 (as far as I know). They might also look more highly upon young professional to represent their clothing, since that is the type of clothing they sell. So, if you want to fit in dress in business casual and you will fit right in. No one will even know you are so young. Basically, if you present yourself in a mature and professional manner you will look the part. I really don't think you have to be a certain age to work there.. especially as Sales. I am Sales, and all I do is sale clothes and help people. I don't deal with any sharp objects or money. Good Luck.

P.S. If you really want to stand out and appear professional, take in a cover letter and resume. Here are some examples to get you started with a cover letter:

    http://www.csuchico.edu/plc/coverltr-ex....

http://www.career.vt.edu/JOBSEARC/covers... (Scroll down a little until you see "Samples" and there is a perfect cover letter formal example on this one.)

http://www.jobbankusa.com/resumes/cover_... (This one really helped me with a good idea for my cover letter than I wrote for my job at Banana. It was written by a lady trying to get a job in a gift shop, but if you change it around a little it will work for a sales associate and Banana too! My manager loved my cover letter when I went in for my interview.)

Also, if you don't have a resume yet, go to Monster.com and you can put in all your info and it will transfer your resume to a word document where you can print it.
