Banana spider mite and banana silving thrips pesticides....?

can someone give me one example of a pesticle for the 2 pest mentioned and the effects they will have on the enviroment(positive and negative) thanks for those who help*

  1. Reccomended by the Queensland Dept. of Primary Industries and fisheries:

    For bananna mite:

    clofentezine, dicofol, fenbutatin oxide, propargite, pyridaben

    For thrips:

    Fipronil and bifenthrin in the soil

    As for health effects, these are the reccomended and governemtn approved treatments.  While this means that these, if used properly, are safe and environmentaly benign in the short term, the effects in the long term of pesticide use can be profound and hard to gauge.  Take a look at the non-chemical control means that the pages below suggest.  The biggest key to pest control, as illustrated below, is polyculture.  Don't just grow one thing.  The predator for that one thing's pest might grow on another plant.  Get those plants in proximity and you'll have your bananas and the wasps (or whatever) will have their mites.
