Band Camp HELP!!?

Question

I am going to band camp for the very first time and im SOOO scared. What if i dont make friends?? And im a twirler(baton) and i missed tryouts where they show you every move you have to know. Anybody know any moves for a beginner twirler?

You will have a GREAT time -- being in a marching band is like being in a fraternity/sorority, everyone looks out for everyone else.  By the end of the first day, you *will* have friends, I guarantee you!

Don't be afraid to ask questions -- you're new, you aren't expected to know everything, so don't try to act "cool" or nonchalant -- ask LOTS of questions, and don't be afraid to keep asking until you're sure of the answer.  The older kids will be happy to show you how to do what you need to do, because they want you to look good, too -- the better you look, the better THEY look!  Just be willing to do whatever you're asked to do in practice, listen carefully, and if you don't understand an instruction, ask questions. Better you understand and try than look like you aren't paying attention.
