  1. try to tell the pricipal and have a witness when the band teacher told you

  2. First, no French horn costs $8000 unless it is custom made for a professional musician. I should know, I played French horn from sixth grade through college. On the other hand, teachers should be returning soon, and it's a good chance to touch base via email and find out where the instrument you are to use is located. Most of the time when a program gets a new sponsor or teacher, everything pretty much continues as usual. If you will go in and ask, without a chip on your shoulder, I am sure they will arrange for the material and instrument that you need.

  3. Your previous band teacher may have left this information with the new band teacher.  It seems like this is something significant that she/he would need to pass on.  Try checking the school website to see if an email address is posted for the new band teacher yet, then you can email her to inquire.  You can cc this to the principal.  Be kind in the email, and say that you were just wondering how to go about getting prepared for honors band, which you were notified you were eligible for last year.  If you can't find an email address for the teacher, you can try just the principal but remember it is summer and you may not get a response immediately or maybe even just call the main office.  Good luck!
