THERE ARE TWO ROUTES FROM BANGALORE TO MANGALORE, ONE BEING THE HASSAN ROUTE THE OTHER BEING THE MADIKERI ROUTE, BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS OF 35 KMS, THE MADIKERI ROUTE IS LONGER BY 35 KMS, BUT SINCE THE CHARMADI GHAT SECTION IS NOT OPENED TO FULL SWING THE TIMINGS TAKEN TO REACH MANGALORE WILL BE ALMOST EQUAL, ITS BEST TO TRAVEL BY NIGHT
