Bangalore to Host Players’ Auction for IPL4
The much awaited, thrilling, entertaining and equally controversial IPL season 4 is finally on the way to be kicked off soon as it has been announced that players’ auction is going to take place at Bangalore on 8th and 9th of January
2011. More than 400 players will take part in the auction.
“The auction is to be held in Bangalore and a total of 416 players would go under the auctioneer’s hammer,” revealed an IPL source.
According to the IPL Player Regulations, franchises are allowed to hold at most 4 players, out of which not less than three should be Indian. The franchises cannot spend more than USD 9 million to buy the players for the whole season.
Among all the franchises, so far Chennai Super Kings, the champions of 2010, along with Mumbai Indians, have fully utilized the option of retaining four players at a time.

2010’s runner ups Mumbai Indians have decided to retain the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Kieron Pollard from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Lasith Malinga. After retaining four players each, both of the franchises are now
left with 4.5 million dollars each to take part into the auction and to buy the rest of the team players.
Among other franchises, Delhi Dare Devils decided to keep http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837
Royals will now have a budget cushion of USD 5.9 million to complete their team, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Dare Devils and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be left with USD 7.2 million each. Rest of the franchises will enjoy a full budget of USD 9 million to buy players
for themselves.
