How much is travel time and km distance between Bangalore to Trichy? Is the road safe to drive at night or better to drive during day time. I am planning a trip this week-end and not sure if me and my family should take a bus or my car.

about travelling at night icannot say . i think it will be safe  if you will becarefull while driving at night . i suggest you to go by day time it will be safe. i think you should take your car  it will be helpfull for sight seeing in trichy or other wise after reaching trichy you need to hire a care .

  4. Total distance is around 350Kms.

If you are taking a bus then, KPN has lots of buses both in the daytime and nighttime.  There also few other good travels. If you are taking the travels over the weekend then better book the ticket as early as possible

If you are driving you should talk NH7 till Namakkal (Most part of it have divided lanes and work is going on in few places). Till Namakkal its 250Kms.  This will take anywhere between 4 to 7 hours

From Namakkal you have take normal state highway. This road is not very great and its almost 85Kms. This will take anywhere between 2 to 3 hours.

  5. Bangalore to Tiruchirappalli is about 335 Km

Take NH7 to Namkkal (250km) via Kathujuganapalli and Salem. From Namkkal, take road towards Trichy via Thottium and Musiri.

Since you'll be mostly (250Km) on NH7 (very good condition), you should be OK driving in night and be able to cover this distance easily in 5-6 hrs. Also, bear in mind that four-laning work is also going on at some places at NH7

From Namakkal to Trichy (about 90 Km), is regular state road with varying condition (not so good) and may take you about 2.5 hrs to cover.

Alternatively,  you can take NH7 until Karur and then NH 67 (via Puliyu and Krishnarayapuram) to Trichy. Overall better road condition but a bit longer (380 miles).

You'll have to decide whether to take bus or car depending on your family size/age/your driving experience and confidence. Though taking your own car provides you flexibility and many other conveniences, bus is also a good option if you are not used to long-distance driving and especially in night. Bus takes around 10 hours (plus additional time to-from bus stations).

  6. There are plenty of buses with AC coaches ,the roads are not that much good for driving that too at night.

  7. it is a night journey from Bangalore in a Bus, about 10 hours. I dont know abt your driving.
