  1. Absolutely not! The skins split and expell the contents. This habit started with cheap, bad sausages in order to remove excess fat but with good, organic sausage this is not necessary at all.

  2. Definitely not, you will end up with a dry manky sausage!

  3. True!

  4. Apparently not, according to most major chefs!  It lets all the good flavours run-out..

  5. Not these days. When I was a kid you had to, or they would burst _ all part of the fun. Heaven only knows what the skins are made of now.

  6. no, not recommend

  7. Yes and no depending on how ya cook em!!!

  8. never

  9. most of us who grill em ,let them slowly cook on the coolest part of the grill till they puff and steam ever so slowly ! and NO  never prick-em !

  10. Pricking your "bangers" lets out the excess fat - Did you know that?   Not only that, but it helps to prevent the build up of pressure inside, so they don't split, or go "bang"

Otherwise, if you don't prick them, you need to cook them in an agonisingly slow way.

  11. Health and safety hazard - you need to make sure you are wearing protective gloves, ear protectors and goggles, in case they explode.
