Bangladesh Cricket Board XI v West Indians – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 (Tour match) – Match Update – Visitors clinch easy 118-run victory
Bolstered by half-tons from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Abu
Naser Stadium in Khulna on November 28.
The match kicked off with the West Indians winning the toss and deciding to bat first. Opener Simmons got the team off to a promising start, contributing an individual score of 84, in addition to teaming up with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kieran-Omar-Akeem-Powell-c71441 (34) for a 68-run opening stand.
Powell was bowled by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marshall-Ayub-c74819 (10-0-63-2) in the 24th
over, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Smith-c90598 followed him back to the pavilion soon after, snapped up by Ayub as his second wicket of the day.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KA-Pollard-c1754 (44) helped the team recover from the sudden fall of wickets, setting up a 61-run partnership for the 4th wicket. The score had swelled to 217, after which Elias Sunny (10-1-71-3) began his strike,
sending Bravo back to the pavilion in the 33rd over. He followed up with the wicket of Pollard, 2 overs later, and Reza claimed his second scalp with the dismissal of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andre-Dwayne-Russell-c44235 (18) in the 38th over.
However, wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Philip-Narine-c91869 (21*), got the West Indians up to a total of 361 by the end of 50 overs.
The tourists then proceeded to execute a successful defence of their total, with Narine (10-0-47-3), Permaul (10-0-52-2), and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mominul-Haque-c77642 (43) were the joint top-scorers for their side, while
Elias Sunny (37*) and Marshall Ayub (30) were the only other batsmen who managed competitive performances. The rest failed to tackle the West Indians’ bowling attack effectively, and by the final over, the BCB XI were all out at 243, with the West Indians
going on to claim a comfortable 118-run win.
