Bangladesh Cricket Board secures extra practice matches for U-19 team – Cricket News Update
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has secured two extra practice matches for its Under-19 team, ahead of the forthcoming Cricket World Cup, commencing in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834, Australia, on August 11. This was revealed by the board on Thursday, July 26.
The two extra practice matches will see the Bengali Tigers locking horn with Papa New Guinea on August 1 and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Scotland-c756 on August 7 and South Africa the next day.
The Bangladesh Under-19 coach, Sarwar Imran hoped the practice games in Australia will play key role in helping the players get acclimatised to the conditions Down Under, going into the high-profile tournament.
“The four warm-up matches we play in Australia will be really important," said Sarwar http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 at the departure press conference in Mirpur on Thursday.
The head coach also expressed satisfaction over team’s preparation for the biennial youth extravaganza.
"The team has been preparing for the last two years, so in that sense, the team is well prepared. When I took over, there were some injured pace bowlers but now everyone has recovered," he added further.
Imran took over as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Under-19 head coach earlier this month, following team’s early exit from the Under-19 Asia Cup, in Kuala Lumpur, in June.
"It is being said that I got little time to adjust but I know all these players. Many of them played under me at age-level, club-level or in the Dhaka Premier League. I actually know them quite well," said Imran, who presided Barisal Burners in the inaugural edition of Bangladesh Premier League, earlier this year.
Bangladesh's new coach shared that the recent matches against BCB XI gave him a chance to assess the squad, and hoped next month's practice matches in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 will help him further bond with the team.
