Bangladesh Cricket Team not visiting Pakistan – Cricket News Update
The long-awaited response from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) regarding touring Pakistan has finally come to everyone’s notice, following a tweet from a BCB official, where they rejected the invitation by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last month.
Despite PCB not receiving any official notification in this regard, but as for now the tour is surely not going ahead, owing to a busy schedule of the Bengali Tigers.
The BCB officials led by their chairman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mustafa-Kamal-c78122, visited their close neighbours in the first week of March and analyzed the security arrangements being offered by the Pakistani government. The delegation went back satisfied after inspecting different
venues, and assured the possibility of their team touring the country, owing to an official confirmation by the ICC.
The Bangladesh board however, changed their attitude after returning back home and started delaying the proposed invitation. Their stance infuriated the PCB, who wanted a valid reason for the delay. The BCB in reply claimed that the final decision will be
taken by their Prime Minister, Hasina Wajed, who is yet to make a formal announcement over the impending matter.
The stumbling block also came after Pakistan defeated http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in a nail biting finale of the Asia Cup 2012, hosted by the latter nation. The Bengali also put forward a formal request to the ICC in changing the outcome of the match, following an incident
involving http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahmudullah-c1877 Riyad in the last over of the game, where both men collided – depriving the local team from a second run.
The tour was scheduled for an mid-April start, with one of two itineraries being adhered to - three ODIs or two ODIs and a T20 international. The finalized venues included the National Stadium Karachi and the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
According to PCB chairman, Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397, the board has done everything on its part to satisfy the BCB delegation, however, they will be seeking other ways to resume international cricket in their country, which includes inviting a World XI following a successful
tour of British universities students last week.
The chances of reviving international cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 can conduct a series at any unsafe venue, while appointing local match officials.
