On 2 November, Rajshahi Division bounced back from their loss in the third round to come at the top of the One Day National Cricket League table. Rajshahi had an easy win against the already defeated Sylhet Division. They have failed to win any match in
the 2010/11 season.
Rajshahi Division is joined by Barisal Division and Dhaka Division with three winning matches each out of four matches while Rajshahi’s net run rate puts them on the first position of the table. These teams have already made it to the second phase of the
National Cricket League.
Rajshahi Division vs. Sylhet Division
The boys from Rajshahi Division had an obvious win over the Sylhet at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra. The Sylhet Division were bowled out in just 34.3 overs for 93 runs.
Rajshahi’s bowling attack proved too much to handle for the Sylhet boys as only Saikat Ali was able to score 27 runs which was the highest in the Sylhet batting line up.
Rajshahi’s young pacer and man-of-the-match Alauddin Babu took three wickets for 14 runs along with left-arm spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sajid-c87977 and Farhad
Hossain also contributed to the collateral damage by taking one wicket each.
Rajshahi had not to do much in chasing with Farhad Reza smashing 77 runs hitting 13 fours. Right-hand batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Farhad-Hossain-c56786 and handed Rajshahi
a 10-wicket win with 110 balls to spare.
Dhaka Division vs. Barisal Division
Barisal Division won the toss and chose to field first at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Dhaka Division scored 170 runs in 46.4 overs all out. Dhaka’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mehrab-Hossain-c75570 was the only player who was able to tackle the Barisal bowlers knocking out 59 off 82 balls which included seven boundaries.
However, Dhaka’s bowlers made sure that such a modest total was not easy to chase for the Barisal Division men.
The highest scoring batsman for Barisal was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Arafat-Salahuddin-c45318 with 34 runs. Former national pacer Mohammad Sharif was declared man-of-the-match taking five wickets for 20 runs. He took the most important wickets at the right time in the match and ripped
off the top-order of Barisal Division. The bowling attack was also supported by Noor Hossain who took three wickets and handed Dhaka Division a 34-run victory.
Khulna Division vs. Chittagong Division
Rain reduced the 50-over match to a maximum of 23 overs per side at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Kamruzzaman Stadium at Rajshahi.
Khulna Division chose to field after winning the toss. Chittagong Division had a top order collapse and were reduced to 24 for 4. Faisal Hossain hit 45 runs off 68 balls which proved to be vital for getting past the 100-run mark for his side. In the end,
Chittagong scored 121 runs for 8 wickets in allotted overs.
Khulna Division’s Robiul Islam took three wickets while Dolar Mahmud and Nazmus Sadat took two wickets each.
Khulna Division’s batting line up was also faltering as they struggled to chase the modest score. However, man-of-the-match http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ziaur-Rahman-c98624 smashed two sixes and two fours to make sure that his side wins the match with an over to spare with 2 wickets in hand.
