The Pakistan Women followed up their 8-wicket win over the Ireland Women with a 6-wicket victory over the Bangladesh Women on the same day at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin on August 29, securing the ongoing Ireland Tri-Nation Women's T20 Series
2012.
The Bangladesh Women won the toss and elected to bat first, but Pakistan Women skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shukhtara-c90152 Rahman (8) and Sanjida Islam (7) opened for their side, but their partnership
did not progress beyond the 3rd over, and yielded just 12 runs.
Confusion in running led to Sanjida Islam’s dismissal via run out by Sana Mir in the 3rd over, and she was followed to the pavilion by Shukhtara Rahman in the 6th over, caught out by Qanita Jalil off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Asmavia-Iqbal-c46564.
The team received a small boost via the 3rd-wicket 31-run stand between skipper Salma Khatun (23) and Lata Mondal (22), which got the total up to 52 by the 12th over. However, Sana Mir intervened to break it up, taking her Bangladeshi
counterpart out of the game.
Lata Mondal valiantly soldiered on, teaming up with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nida-Rashid-Dar-c79512 in the 19th over, by which
point the Bangladesh Women were at 88 for 5. Minor contributions by Farzana Haque (8), Ritu Moni (1*), and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jahanara-Alam-c65295 (3*) enabled the team to post a final total of 96 by the end of 20 overs.
Like Sana Mir, Salma Khatun (4-0-11-3) spearheaded her team’s bowling attack, dismissing the entire top order, but her efforts went in vain as the Pakistan Women breezed through their 97 run chase, easily getting over the line with 6 wickets and 24 balls
remaining.
Nida Dar (28) and Qanita Jalil (17) got the team off to a strong start, with an opening stand of 40 runs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Qanita-Jalil-c82844 packing in the 6th over, after which she claimed Nida Dar as her second wicket, during the 8th
over.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bismah-Maroof-c48136 (23*) and Javeria Khan (14) picked it up from there, setting up a 4th-wicket 40-run stand which got the team total up to 91 by the
16th over. Following http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Javeria-Khan-c66603’s dismissal at the hands of Ritu Moni, Sana Mir chipped in with a 3*-run contribution to take her team to 99 by the end of the 16th over.
The win sees the Pakistan Women, who emerged triumphant from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 Tri-Nation Women's One-Day Series, following it up with a second victory, in the T20 series.
