Bangladesh Women v South Africa Women - South Africa Women tour of Bangladesh (1st T20I) – Match Recap
Bangladesh Women skipper Salma Khatun guided her side to a 7-wicket win (D/L method) over the South Africa Women on the strength of an all-round performance, during the first T20I of the ongoing 3-match series, played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium
in Mirpur today on September 11.
Coming into the series after losing the ODIs to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 Women, 1-2, the Bangladesh Women won the toss and chose to field first – a decision which Khatun upheld, finishing with figures of 4-1-21-2 by the end of 20 overs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Trisha-Chetty-c94414 (12) opened the innings for their side, but their partnership had only reached 14 runs before Khatun swept in to break it up, sending Chetty back to the pavilion in the 4th over.
She was followed to the crease by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Susanna-Maria-Benade-c92039, who top-scored for her side with 37, in addition to teaming up with Fritz for a 44-run stand for the 2nd wicket. However, Benade was stumped by wicketkeeper Nuzhat Tasnia off Khadija Tul Kubra in
the 12th over, leaving her side at 58 for 2.
Fritz, who consumed 35 balls for her 10-run contribution, was finally dislodged by Rumana Ahmed (caught out by Salma Khatun) in the next over, and the remainder of the batting order registered uninspiring performances.

Khatun, the South Africa Women finished at 105 by the end of 20 overs, at the expense of 6 wickets.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lata-Mondal-c72230 and Rumana Ahmed. However, the team received an early scare with the dismissal of Mondal (who had been the highest run-scorer during the ODI series) on duck, at the hands of Benade, in the 3rd
over.
With Rumana Ahmed (14) and Farzana Haque (15) at the crease, and the team at 12/1 in 4.4 overs, the match was interrupted by rain, and when play resumed, the revised target according to D/L calculations, was 73 runs from 13 overs.

saw the team safely to 75 by the beginning of the 13th over, with 7 wickets and 5 balls remaining.
The victory granted the Bangladesh Women a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series, and they will be hoping to continue in a similar vein during the next T20I, scheduled to be played at the same venue on September 12.
