Bangladesh announce squad for Women's T20 Asia Cup – Cricket News Update
The Bangladesh Women’s Twenty20 squad for the upcoming Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup, 2012/13, has been announced, with skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salma-Khatun-c88162 set to lead the team for the tournament which will be played out in Guangzhou, China, later this month.

The Women’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to be played out at the Guanggong International Cricket Stadium (which also served as the venue for the 2010 Asian Games), will kick off on October 24, with a group stage which features two groups. The Bangladesh Women
have been placed in Group B, alongside the China Women, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 Women.
The group stage of the competition will be followed by the knockouts, and the tournament final on October 31.
The Bangladesh Women have had a busy year, which kicked off with two Only ODIs in August, as precursors to the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 Women lost by 42 runs), and the
second was played against the Ireland Women (which the Bangladesh Women also lost, by 61 runs).
The actual Tri-Nation Women’s One-Day series saw the Pakistan Women emerging victorious, while the Bangladesh Women failed to win a single match. The Tri-Nation Women’s T20 series, however, saw a slight improvement, with the Bangladesh Women managing to
win their first match against their Irish counterparts (by 4 wickets), before the Pakistan Women again went on to win the series.
While the team failed to qualify for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 Women for a comprehensive tour in early September, including a 3-match ODI series (which the hosts lost 1-2), followed by a 3-match T20 series
(which the hosts also lost 1-2).
The squad for the upcoming tournament in China is largely unchanged from the one that took on the SA Women in September, barring the additions of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Panna-Ghosh-c80709 and Shamima Sultana. Having registered a string of mediocre performances this year, the Bangladesh
Women will be looking to make an impression in China this month.
Bangladesh Women T20 Squad:
1 Salma Khatun (captain), 2 http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lily-Rani-Bishwash-c72890, 13 Tazia Akhter, 14 Panna
