Bangladesh captain gunning for 4-0 sweep of New Zealand

Kiwis in the first and the third ODI of the series. They had won the first game through Duckworth-Lewis system while overpowering the New Zealanders in the third game by seven wickets. The second game of the five-ODI series was cancelled on Friday after rain
made the pitch unplayable.

Speaking to the media, Shakib said that the side was confident of winning the series 4-0.
"We played good cricket in the last two games but we want to improve our performance in the next two because there are lots of areas to improve.”

"We are capable of playing much better cricket and what I believe is that we are yet to play our best cricket in the series. Things will fall into place if we can improve our performance."
Despite the second win at Dhaka, Shakib pointed out that the win could have been a ten-wicket victory. He said that the team needed to learn the art of finishing the game once they had got themselves a start.
Apart from praising the openers for the way in which they batted, Shakib also said that the spinners were the reason why the Bangladeshis won the second ODI.
He said, "The spinners, especially Shuvo, did a good job after Shafiul [Islam] removed Brendon McCullum, but we didn't bowl well in the Power Play. Our fielding was good but not extraordinary, so we have
to look at these areas."
Shakib also praised the unity of the team and suggested that each individual had contributed to the two wins and that was mainly the team’s strength. Bangladesh play New Zealand in the fourth ODI on Thursday.
