http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 kicks off with the Zimbabwe Tour with a warm up game: Cricket News Update
The Bangladeshi tourists are set to take on the Zimbabwe XI side in a tour match, today, Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Harare Sports Club. The fixture comes as the warm up game for the visiting team, prior to the official kick off to the series against the
Zimbabwe international side.
Following the 3-day bout, Bangladesh will then take on the hosts, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, in a one off Test match on August 4, 2011 till August 8 at the Harare Sports Club, where the home team will be making their first appearance in the format after six years. As for
the tourists, the warm up match will serve as the valuable practice for Bangladesh since their last year’s appearance in a Test game at Old Trafford.
Both the contestants look confident for giving their best on the field. As for the Bangladeshi skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shakib-Al-Hasan-c2492, the player recently stated that his side is ahead of the Zimbabwean team and will be heading the tour as favourites.
On the other hand, Zimbabwean National Selector, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alistair-Douglas-Ross-Campbell-c43655, rested his confidence on the national team, citing that the squad will set to make a potent comeback.
“Obviously there will be nerves flying around on our side because everyone will be watching how we are going to perform. But the players realise the expectations and they would need to give a good account of themselves. Of course, there is going to be pressure
on the boys as they may push too hard to impress,” said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Campbell-c49176.
Follow up to the Test match, the two teams will then be taking on each other in the five One Day International (ODI) games, scheduled take off from August 12 to August 21.
All the fixtures are set be staged between Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club at Bulawayo.
Based on statistics, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh have faced each other in 18 ODIs since January 2009 from which the Bangladeshi side has earned 13 triumphs.
As for the warm-up match, the Zimbabwe XI, captained under youngster, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BRM-Taylor-c1200, will hope to offer a decent performance on the field, following their recent down sliding performances in the previous seasons.
