Bangladesh spinners dominate as Zimbabwe bundled out for 191
Bangladesh wrapped up the Zimbabwe innings for 191 with some accurate bowling from their spinners in the second One-day international between the sides in Dhaka.
The hosts won the toss and put Zimbabwe into bat for the second successive game. Fast bowlers Mashrafe Murtaza and Shafi-Ul-Islam proved to be a bit expensive like they were in the last game, but it was Shafi-Ul-Islam who grabbed the first wicket early for
Bangladesh. As soon as the spinners were introduced, Zimbabwe found it difficult to cope, and were held by some tidy bowling. Spinner Abdur Razzak once again dominated the Zimbabwean batting line-up and exposed their weakness against quality spin bowling.
Things started off badly for Zimbabwe after they lost their first wicket for just ten runs on the board in the second over of the match. Brendan Taylor and Regis Chakabva then steadied their side with some good batting until the spinners were introduced.
Bangladesh
Captain Shakib-Al-Hasan struck in the tenth over claiming the wicket of Brendan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Taylor-c92915, who again got a start by scoring 28 runs, but was unable to convert it to a big innings. Zimbabwe then suffered another blow in the 13th over
when Regis Chakabva fell to Abdur Razzak. The spinners pressurised the two new batsmen at the crease and didn’t allow them to score freely. After a 48-run stand, Keith Dabengwa chipped one straight to Shakib-Al-Hasan, and Zimbabwe lost their fourth wicket
for 104 runs in the 30th over.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Elton-Chigumbura-c55937 fell in the 33rd and 37th overs respectively to complicate matters for Zimbabwe.
Craig Ervine and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Prosper-Utseya-c82728 provided some resistance to the Bangladesh bowlers, and scored some quick runs for the visitors. They managed a 50-run partnership off 44 balls to give some hope to their team. Things were looking much better for Zimbabwe, until
they lost four wickets for just two runs at the end. Craig Ervine remained unbeaten on 42 off just 41 balls. Zimbabwe were unable to bat out their full quota of overs and ended their innings with 22 balls to spare.
For the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 team, it was again Abdur Razzak who claimed five wickets, including three quick ones at the end of the innings. Razzak had bowled superbly in the fist game and carried his form into this match. Captain Shakib-Al-Hasan also claimed four
wickets for 39 runs to make sure that Zimbabwe didn’t pile up a big score. Both left-arm spinners picked up nine of the ten wickets to fall.
Zimbabwe had some mixed performances in the match. Had they played the final 22 balls, things might have been a bit different. Craig Ervine was striking the ball nicely and would have enjoyed batting out the last few overs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 will still be confident
to come back into the match with the help of their bowlers, as they did in the first match. Early wickets will be crucial for them, and they will also back their spinners to perform well like the Bangladeshis.
Bangladesh on the other hand will be looking to start their innings positively and avoid run-outs, which cost them the first game. Their Captain Shakib-Al-Hassan was upset to lose the first match, and he will be looking forward to get his team back on track,
following their series win over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754. Bangladesh are looking to level the series 1-1, and take some momentum into the next three games.
