Bangladesh tour to Zimbabwe 2011 - Schedule Announced – Cricket News Update
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) have announced the tour fixtures for Bangladesh team’s visit to Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh is scheduled to make their arrival in Zimbabwe on July 28, 2011. The team will be playing a 3-day warm up game before they officially take on the hosts in the one off Test match on August 4, 2011, till August 8.
The only Test match will be staged at the Harare Sports Club where Zimbabwe will be making its return to the format, first time in five years.
Following the 4-day opening game, the Zimbabwe side will then take on the tourists in 5 One Day International (ODI) matches, which are scheduled take off from August 12 to August 21.
As for the venue, the one dayers are set to be staged between Harare Sports Club and Queens Sports Club at Bulawayo.
In recent years, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh have played 18 ODIs against each other since January of 2009. Out of the lot, the Bangladeshi side has earned 13 triumphs.
Looking at the squads for the two sides; the team members are still to be finalized by the two teams’ boards. However, the skippers will be Shakib Al Hasan for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brendan-Ross-Murray-Taylor-c48364 for the Zimbabwe squad.
The upcoming tournament comes as part of the busy Zimbabwean cricketing schedule for their current and upcoming year’s home events.
The hosts recently brought a http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 A. The hosts remained winless throughout the competition.
Following Bangladesh’s visit, Zimbabwe will then be visited by the Pakistani team. The Green Caps are scheduled to make their arrival in late July to participate in a one off Test match, three One Days and two Twenty20 International (T20) fixtures.
Finally, early next year, Zimbabwe will host the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 side, in a series scheduled from January 26 to February 14. The competition will feature a single Test game, three One Dayers and two T20Is.
