during the first session’s play.
West Indies had set a target of 508 runs for the opposition and left them with only one option of playing for the draw.
However, it was not an easy task for the home team to bat for almost five complete sessions and they needed some solid performances from their batsmen to pressurise the opposition.
The most important things for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 was to start well in their second innings and keep as many wickets as possible in tact until the end of day four. However, the team lost three wickets for 164 runs at close of play on day four.
Opening batsman Imrul Keyes and middle-order players http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Raqibul-Hasan-c84039 were the batsmen to be dismissed in the day yesterday.
Star player Tamim Iqbal was solid as a rock though, as he did not give his wicket away and threatened the opposition to score a big one. He was unbeaten on 82 runs when the play was called off by the umpires on day four.
Bangladesh’s skipper Mushfiqur Rahim was the other unbeaten batsman and the pair started day five with an intention to bat through the first session of the day.
However, Tamim was unable to make most of the start he got to his innings yesterday and was dismissed after contributing 83 runs to the total. He managed only one more run to his overnight score.
The fall of Tamim’s wicket did not put the home team under pressure, as Rahim and Shakib put on 88 runs for the fifth wicket. They scored 69 and 55 runs respectively, but were dismissed before lunch sinking their side in deep trouble.
All three wickets to fall in the first session were picked up by leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo.
