Bangladesh’s Domestic Cricket – Roundup of National Cricket League One Day 2010/2011 (Third Round)
The third round of Bangladesh's domestic cricket was played on 29th October 2010.
Barisal Division vs. Chittagong
The 50 – over match was played at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra and it looked like that Barisal’s previous match against Khulna Division was being replayed. The clash of the two southern divisions started off when Chittagong division
won the toss and chose to bat. The Chittagong division was reduced to four wickets at 95 in the 20th over. However, they dragged on to scoring 218 runs for nine wickets. The number seven batsman Mahmudul Hasan was the highest scorer
of Chittagong with his 41 run stunner. Chittagong’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gazi-Salahuddin-c58702 and Nafis Iqbal had an encouraging start with their 44 runs partnership in 6.5 overs but failed to keep up the propulsion. After the partnership broke in the 6.5th over,

who had his maiden century of his career. Rabbi hammered the Chittagong’s bowlers with eight fours and two sixes during his 135 – ball century. Nafees scored 80 runs in 89 balls smashing eight fours and two sixes. The one and only wicket fell at the 18th over

Barisal reached 222 for one in the 46.5th over and sealed the third successive win with 19 balls remaining.
Khulna Division vs. Sylhet Division
After a second round defeat from the hands of Barisal division, Khulna division were eyeing the way for redemption against a win against Sylhet. Eventually they redeemed themselves with a fantastic six wickets victory. The match was being
played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur where the right – arm fast bowler http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rubel-Hossain-c2378 troubled the batsmen with his bouncers taking three major wickets of Syam Alam, Nurul Ahsan and bolding Tapash Baisya. The Sylhet Division were well know
with disasters, therefore were one player short after almost every 18 runs. A prosaic batting hampered the Sylhet Division’s attempt of scoring runs. They were bowled out for 135 runs in 43.2 overs.
Khulna division started slow when the aggressive right – hand batsman Mithun Ali was caught by Alok Kapali in 1.5th over. The second fall of wicket came when left – hand opener batsman Imrul Kayes was caught by
Tapash Baisya in the second over. However, Khulna rode to victory with a 57 – run partnership between Nazmus Sadat who scored 42 runs and match’s top scorer Tushar http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193. The player of the match was undoubtedly the hero of the Tiger’s last win against New
Zealand which guaranteed their whitewash, Rubel Hossain. Partnering him up was Robiul Islam, who captured two wickets for 28 runs and left – arm spinner Abdur Razzak snatched two wickets for 19 runs.
Dhaka Division vs. Rajshahi Division
Both divisions had a chance to outclass each other as both have lost one match in the league. However, Dhaka Division proved strong against Rajshahi Division. Dhaka Division won the toss and decided to field first at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-c89347 Kamruzzaman

116 off 122 balls. His innings included seven fours and four sixes. Former Bangladesh’s captain Mohammad Ashraful also continued with his excellent form after scoring his second half – century in three matches with Dhaka.
Barisal secured a maximum of six points from three games while Dhaka shared second position along with Rajshahi securing four points each. The next round of the league takes place on November 2nd 2010.
