Bank Bonus’ to cash the Weatherbys Bank Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Chepstow
The Class 5 Weatherbys Bank Median Auction Maiden Stakes has brought together an assorted blend of entries, with one racing for his career debut, some racing the seasonal debut, and then there are those who have settled in their 2012 campaigns.
Chepstow will host the race, which will be run over a distance of 1 mile, four furlongs and twenty-three yards on Monday, 25th June.
Racing for the third time this season today is the Queen’s three-year-old bay gelding, Bank Bonus. Motivator’s Bank Bonus has only raced twice during the new season, and has kept a firm grip on the consistency of performance that he delivered.

Settling into his stride before any of the other nine contestants could, was Sir John Hawkwood. He defeated the 10 to 11 favourite runner up, Bank Bonus, by five lengths.
Next stop for the Andrew Balding trained was the Levy Restaurants Stakes (Handicap) on 15th June at Goodwood over a mile and two furlongs.
Dominating the race was, Clare Island Boy, while making provision just right after the winner by a mere neck’s difference was, Bank Bonus.
On the field of five, the 6 to 4 favourite, Freedy Q, completed the order of finish.
The three-year-old will be stretched out in distance today, and after being paired up with Jimmy Fortune for four races in a row, he will become the mount for jockey, David Probert.
New race course, new jockey, new distance coupled with the fourth stall to break from needs to be engineered in a manner that assures success for the Queen owned three-year-old.
An entry to look out for is, Nayef’s three-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Tahirah, Cyrus Sod. He has been active four times during the new season, and out of those he has finished as a runner-up on two instances.
He qualified as the runner up on 25th April in the Investec Asset Management Maiden Stakes at Epsom over a mile and one-half furlong. The race was won by the 6 to 4 favourite, Valley Of Destiny.
He then ended next to the best in the ATR Royal Ascot Microsite Now Live Handicap on 12th June at Lingfield over a distance of 1 mile 3 1/2 furlongs. Excelling through the challenge was, Tingo In The Tale.
