Is there any bank out there that doesn't charge overdraft fees? If there isn't is there a bank out there that doesn't charge you that much if you do overdraft? If so how much?

  1. Try a Credit union, they tend to have lower fees or no fees at all.  Most banks if not all, will charge a fee for every little thing.  I prefer a credit union by far.

  2. I have good credit and I have overdraft protection against that.  No fee, just a limit on the overdraft amount allowed and well worth it, in case of overdraft.. I NEVER write checks with low money in an account and Never write a check for a hold for a later date. That is asking for big trouble and illegal to do.

  3. 1. You will not find a bank with no charge for overdrafts.

    2. If you are a repeat offender of overdrafts your bank will most likely report you to Chexsystes (sort of like a credit report for bank accounts).  If you have negative entries on here it may be difficult for you to open a new account.

    3. Writing a check when you don't have the funds in the bank to cover it is a crime and you can be prosecuted for this.

  4. How about grow up and realize you have to be an adult and DON'T overdraft on your account. Balance you check book and don't spend money you don't have. Everyone has to sacrfice, you need to learn the difference between a need and a want!

  5. Credit unions usually have smaller overdraft fees. I have two bank accounts. My account with a credit union charges $20 for overdrafts. My other bank charges $25.
