Bank charges, do i have chance of getting them back?

looked in my account and it was wayyy over my overdraft limit, to the point i thought someone had been taking money from my account, i looked at my statement and because a direct debit of £1.22 came out of my account without me knowing, theyve charged me £68 surely they cant charge me that much, do i stand much chance of getting it back and what are my options

Physically go to the bank and ask for an explanation

if you don't have a history of going over you stand a good chance of getting them to remove all or at least some of the charges.
