  1. Charges on a bank debit card will not affect credit, only if they stole her identity and opened new credit accounts would her credit be affected.

  2. Make sure that you get your money back and also you should check your credit report, and also contact IRS and social security office to make sure your SSN is not being used also.

you could be a victim of ID theft.  Don't ever use you cell phone number when calling banks, credit cards company, IRS because you will be disclosing your personal information such as name SSN address etc and people around you can be writing all the information down, or can be pick up from another device.

    Be ware!

  3. Yes, it can effect her credit.  It can also effect Telecheck if a company has reported a loss by customer.  However, she can dispute it to get it off the credit report and or Telecheck.  Have her keep an eye on it and don't take it for granted that it will not happen.

  4. No matter whether you choose “credit” or “debit” at the time of purchase a debit card is a debit card and has nothing to do with the credit system. Nothing that happens with it ever touches your credit rating.

  5. it happened to me, also, she may need to change her credit cards...she will have to call the credit reporting bureau and report the fraud...that should take care of it..

  6. Nothing to worry about, credit ratings are formed by the credit score companies like Experian, they take information from creditors to assertain your score, they will not act without information from the credit company,if your sister has been defrauded of money and the bank will back her up then no information will be passed to any credit score company and nothing will appear on her credit profile
