  1. i think this happens pretty often.  It happened to my aunt who was visiting from Canada. We were at the supermarket.  Then the lady behind us said that Bank of American did the same thing to her.  Try to go to the bank you went to and show your receipt.  Explain to them what happened.  It is worth a try. Good luck

  2. go talk to someone at the bank...another good reason to always count your money and look at it before you leave the bank........

  3. How do you know it's fake?  A bank is very careful about their money....  It is a government institution... They are coming out with new designs on the bills... it might just be one of those... Take it to a store and use it to make a purchase... They'll know if it's a counterfeit when they mark it with the special pen.

I'm not sure if there's really anything you'll be able to do about it since you left the bank...  Sorry...   Try some of the above suggestions....

Never leave the bank (or store, for that matter) without checking your money first.

  4. Tell them and show them the slip that was given to you. If they dont give you the bill then call the banks corporate office. Or just trade with another company for 5 Ones, 1 Fives, 1 Tens and 4 Twenties

  5. DO NOT CONTACT ANYONE>>>DO NOT TAKE IT BACK TO THE BANK.... we are required by the federal government to withhold all fradulent bills...and even if you have a receipt that has no proof that you got the fake bill from them. If you contact a government agency, again, they will be forced to confiscate the bill...with no individual to go after to tack the "counterfeit process" on, you are a somply victim, but will not get a shiny new one back...

the only thing you can do honestly, and sadly, is take it and spend it...hey you could even try depositing it back into your account with the teller who gave it to you...if they took it once they might take it again, but I assure you there is no legitament way to get a new bill for your fraudulent one.

  6. call the secret service in your area.  here's the website: http://www.secretservice.gov.  You can find the one closest to your hometown.  They can help you with your situation.

update: for the person who gave me the thumbs down, I work for law enforcement and I know that the secret service take counterfeit bills and investigate the cases.

  7. Go spend it at Wal Mart they'll take anything.

  8. You'll probably just have to keep it or throw it away because the bank may not be able to take it back. You can always try though, but the may take it and throw it away. Are you sure that it's fake?.

  9. walk in with your reciept and all the money you have hopefully that you haven't spent it, and tell them what happened. if they don't believe you or something, don't argue, cause they'll prolly call the cops. and if they don't switch hundreds with you, then i guess ur out 100. sry but its better then getting arrested or sumthing. cause usually they're supposed to check the money and they're more likely to blame you.

  10. Seriously? Just spend it, you could get in serious trouble for something like that.
