I went back to confront her & she insists that she didn't under-deposit my deposit by $100. Does bank of america do balance check every day to see if a teller made a mistake? Who should I talk to tomorrow?

  1. was it cash or checks? checks will be easy to prove... cash is different.  but they do a daily balance and if the teller is over $100, well that is yours.  Go to the bank, ask for the manager and explain the situation.

Take the deposit slip with you.  Take any evidence that you had that extra $100.  This will help to prove you actually did have an extra $100.  Are you in the U.S.?  I went to Canada and my sister warned me... be sure to count out the money you are depositing to the teller, be sure to count the change she gives you, because they try to "scam" you... yes, and the one girl did try... she just handed me my money in a lump.  I counted it out in front of her, before leaving and sure enough it was incorrect.  I was so glad my sister gave me that advice.

Ask the manager to check the camera from yesterday, since it will show the teller counting out the money, etc... they count it and mark it on the deposit slip you filled out.

  2. ~~Absolutely they keep records. The teller would have been out of balance. If it was cash, and you didn't notice until after you left her window it could be a problem (if she is a dishonest employee). I had a similar thing happen at Von's, it was only a $20, but still it was my money. So I called the store, (hadn't realized it until the next day), and the store manager was great. They have cameras on their checkers and she could clearly see I had not been given the cash back I had requested on my debit card. She handed it to me right away. The banks have cameras all over the bank, they may be able to view the transactions clearly enough to see what happened. So call the Operations Manager first thing. Ask if the teller was out of balance and if they say no ask them to view the transaction. Good luck!~~
