When I got my new phone account, the previous owner of the number seems to have done lots of bad things. I've finally stopped getting calls for her, except from bank of america. They call me every day!!! they have a machine call me and tell me to call a number. unless I have a pen in my hand already I can never manage to write it down. once I remembered it , called it and asked them to stop calling me, and they didn't stop. what can I do?

  1. a few things,

    1 change you phone number

2 call Bank of America and tell them your problem

    Hope this helped

  2. Keep in mind that the calls you are receiving may not be from the bank at all. Often times scammers will call you and pretend to be a representative from a bank and ask you to 'verify' your information. It can go a little something like this.

Bank: Hello can I speak with Mrs. Smith please?

    Customer: Yes this is her.

Bank: Hi we need you to verify some information on your account, is your social security number and account number (insert number here) ?

Customer: No, it's (insert # here).

.... It's happened before, believe it or not. Prevent this by looking up the banks number and directly calling them back yourself.

In any case, if it is indeed the bank calling you, I would follow the other posters advice.

  3. change your cell phone number

  4. Call up Bank of America again, ask to speak to a supervisor and explain that you are receiving calls for someone no longer listed to your phone number. Don't be rude but get your point across that you are expecting these calls to stop immediately. Ask that your number be put on the "do not call list." They are suppose to stop calling you by that request even if you were the person they are looking for. When the number is being generated through the dialer system, your number can come up a dozen times in one day if no one answers. That is why an actual person needs to find what account number belongs to your phone number and update a "do not call" or remove the number completely. Make sure you stay on the phone with a supervisor until they locate the account number that matches your phone number and get the supervisors first and last name after you talk with them. (Just in case you do have to call again and complain!)  Hope that helps, good luck at stopping those annoying calls!
