i applied for a credit card a year ago and 2 weeks ago i used it for the 1st time, i spent $83.58 and i was gonna pay it in the bank but they said i dont have a balance and they owe me $77.14. when i checked my online statement it says $160.72 CR and they subtracted the $83.58 so now they said they owe me $77.14 and i have to call them to get the check... is it possible that they gave me free money?? is it ok to spend it and i wont get charge for it? why did they give me $160 in the first place? i have $1500 credit limit.

  1. Why on earth aren't you asking them?

Call them back and make sure you get the name of the person you're talking to...note the date and time.

You don't want to get an uncertain answer from off of yahoo answers and jack up your credit man!

  2. It's not at all possible that Bank of America gave you free money. That's not how they do things -- instead, they like to take your money using all sorts of small surcharges.

If you have a negative balance, it's their error... but they WILL notice the error eventually. And you're not legally entitled to money that a bank accidentally dumps into your account. Don't spend that money.
