Banking in italy...???!!!

I am an american student who is going to be studying in Montepulciano for 10 weeks. I want to open up an international bank account with Cirrus, Plus, or Interbank capability on their Debit/Checking cards but dont know which one to choose? DOes anyone know which bank has the best rates for transaction charges and such, or is theres one prominent bank that has alot of ATMS in Montepulciano or italy in general...need help ASAP thanks!!

  1. If I were you, I would opt for the Western Union's prepaid cash card - no bank account necessary. The card is more like a debit card. And I prefer it because WU is very popular internationally. Good-luck!
