Iv got a letter today from Cap Quest Debt Recovery .

They have sent me a lettter saying statutory demand for Bankruptcy. To tell the truth i think its bollocks and that they are trying to Scare me , its only 800.00 . Might just pay them £60 and then this stops them issuing me with the above Demand for Bankruptcy .

Has anyone else had a letter from Cap Quest Debt Recovery ? What did they do . and dont bullshit me , i want to know the truth and what they have done to you , Not your friends , you as a person if you have been in this situation .

Also how do they know i got the letter ? when it wasnt even signed for.

  1. Its another one of their famous scare tactics.

It's not worth their time or money to bankrupt you for £800 (it costs about £600 for them to bring the case to court), and anyway if they made you bankrupt and you owed other debts, the larger debts would get priority.

The way to shut them up is to pay them a small amount and inform them that you have a very large debt with an unnamed creditor and that they would probably be last in any payout.

If your debt is older than 6 years and you haven't contacted them or repaid anything then deny you owe the debt.

You will be covered by the Statute Barred legislation which stops any debt over 6 years being able to be enforced.

  2. no one is going to bankrupt you for less than £15,000 so it is a scare tactic.
