  1. Ethics yes - in fact, we bankruptcy lawyers deal with ethical issues all the time, and probably have higher standards than most in the legal profession.  However, providing a credit report has absolutely nothing to do with ethics.  As others have said, with your permission a lawyer could order one for you, and would have to charge you for it, or raise the fee to include the cost.  Or you could get it yourself for free.  Which is more ethical?

  2. An Attorney is supposed to be very well educated in Law as well as Integrity and Ethics.  Professionalism is primary!  If you had to pay,  he might  just be letting you know he's just plain fugal or maybe he graduated with a C-.  Good Luck and God Bless....

  3. He could have pulled your credit report for you but you would have had to pay for it.

  4. Quite frankly, yes ethics are involved in the entire legal profession. However, that does NOT absolve you, the client, of your own duties. Having you pull your own credit report is not unusual. You can do it FOR FREE, but your attorney would have to pay for it - which raises the fees you are charged.

  5. I CANT BELIEVE YOU USED THE WORD "ATTORNEY" AND "ETHICS" IN THE SAME SENTENCE.
